검은파리는 낮에 활동하는 최대 5mm의 작은 파리로, 빠르고 강한 파리를 날아다닙니다. 특징적인 "혹등"을 가지고 있으며 검은색, 회색, 밝은 황갈색 또는 노란색을 띕니다. 검은파리는 특히 텍사스 북동부 지역의 빠르게 흐르는 강에서 흔히 볼 수 있습니다.
