Sawyer 정수 시스템은 신장 투석 필터에서 채택한 기술을 사용합니다. Sawyer 중공사막 필터는 튜브의 측면 벽에 있는 작은 미세 구멍을 통해 물이 코어로 들어갈 수 있는 작은 "U"자형 마이크로 튜브로 구성되어 있습니다. 필터와 정수기의 기공은 너무 작아서 대장균, 콜레라, 장티푸스 같은 박테리아가 통과할 수 없습니다. 0.1미크론 절대 필터와 0.02미크론 절대 정수기는 EPA 병원균 제거율 기준을 초과할 뿐만 아니라 시중에 나와 있는 대부분의 다른 개인용 필터보다 성능이 뛰어나고 수명이 더 길어요.
