"The absolute best products, hands-down, are those that contain DEET," says Tony King, a pest control expert and founder of The Pied Piper Pest Control. "DEET has been around since the 1940s and has decades of proof that it provides long-lasting protection that is oftentimes up to 10 hours depending on the strength. It stops the mosquito from detecting carbon dioxide and body odors and makes you 'invisible' to the mosquito."
