What Skin Repellents are Recommended for Ticks?

Perhaps the first thing people think of to protect themselves from mosquitoes and ticks is applying an insect skin repellent.

After reviewing both the effectiveness and safety of products, the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend the following EPA registered products to ward off insect bites. Different products have different percentages needed to provide effectiveness as well as different safety warnings and instructions for use. Additionally, some of the products are odorless and safe on plastics, Gore Tex materials, etc.
